Assignment 10: Postage stamp triptych

I believe that the strongest technical aspect of my work was the first stamp, that involved repetition. I used the dodge, and burn tool to lighten, and darken different pictures of the superhero: the Green Arrow. I think that I could have improved on the typography stamp, and typed more.

The easiest part of the art Activity was the minimalism stamp, where I had to use only one picture. The most difficult part of the art activity was  finding good pictures of the Green Arrow to put on the stamps.

The objective of this art activity was to create a series of three multi-layered postage stamps that are visually connected by color and theme. I demonstrated the objective by using the color green, and pictures of the superhero the Green Arrow as my theme. I made a typography, repetition, and minimalism stamp. If I did this again, the only thing I would change would be the typography stamp.

I believe that the strongest technical aspect of my work is the water. I really like how it turned out, I used light brushes to make the rays of light coming from the surface. I also used some natural brushes to make the top left of the water background lighter. I think that I could improve on the bottom of the fish to make the color of the fins lighter.

I thought that coloring in the fish with the paint bucket tool, was the easy part of this art activity. The difficult part of the art activity was getting the water background to look natural, and deciding which parts of the fish to make darker, or lighter.

I demonstrated the objective of this art activity by using different kinds of brushes to make a fish in water look like a painting of a fish in water. If I could do this art activity again the only thing I would change is the color of the bottom fins on the fish, I think they should be lighter.
