Assignment 2: personal Identity

Declan Whitted

Assignment 2: personal identity.
I think that the strongest technical aspect of my work is the way I colored the pictures, and the original picture that I chose. I chose the soccer ball background, because it had all the colors I needed for the other pictures. I also think that I could improve on the way I formatted the pictures. I thought that the picture of the video game controller, and video camera were not well placed.

For me, the easiest part of the activity was getting the pictures, (or coloring pages) and coloring them. I also found it easy to move and flip the pictures. The only thing that was difficult for me in this art activity, was using the magic wand tool (or the quick selection tool) to get rid of the white coloring page backgrounds.

The objective of this art activity, was to use the colors from one picture (the soccer ball background) and color in the pictures that represent things I like. If I could do this activity again I would move the picture of Mario, the mushroom, and the video game controller. I think that the picture would look better if I could see more of the colored flames in the soccer ball picture.

  1. Declan, You did a great job using the eyedropper and paint bucket to fill in your images. Sometimes it is easier to use the magic wand if you paint the background a very different color. The next time you do an assignment like this remember odd numbers, the illusion of a triangle, change of scale, and overlapping help to develop a dynamic collage that flows together. If you ever feel that you need help with setting up a composition just get my attention.
